- Septic tanks: The septic tank is a polyester tank made up of one or several compartments, depending on whether it is for single-family homes (compact model) or towns (horizontal model). Two processes occur inside the pit:
- First, the decantation of the solid materials, the suspension of the floating particles and the calming or reduction of the entry velocity of the water.
- Second, the clarification of water after digestion or fermentation thanks to anaerobic bacteria.

- Biological filter: The wastewater decanted and digested in the septic tank enters the biological filter and is distributed over a filter mass or bacterial bed. The aerobic process oxygenates and clarifies the water to eliminate organic matter. The resulting water, already purified, is in adequate oxygen conditions.

- The equipment is made up of two compartments: In the second or decanter, is where the separation of sludge and water occurs. Due to the action of gravity, the sludge falls to the bottom of the settler, where it is recirculated back to the biological reactor through a submersible pump or “air-lift”.
- In the first or biological reactor, the decomposition of organic matter occurs, thanks to the extraordinary contribution of oxygen through ejectors or blowers and the combined action of aerobic microorganisms.
The treatment and purification of wastewater can be complemented with other types of polyester tanks such as sludge settlers, thickeners, etc.
